About Us

The Cedar Rapids Firefighters Foundation was created in 2012 to promote the wellbeing of Iowa firefighters and to enhance their presence in the community. The Foundation raises money and awareness for a variety of causes that directly impact the lives of children and families in our community.

Managed by firefighters and civilians who volunteer their time and talents, the Foundation has raised and donated more than $150,000 since its inception. Money is raised primarily through our generous donors and annual events including the Memorial 5K Run/Walk and Fire Bowl and the Safe Kids Coalition.

In addition to providing monetary support, the Foundation participates in memorials, services and activities throughout the state to raise awareness and support for firefighters in Iowa.

History

Following many successful years of providing support and charitable donations to Iowans, the Foundation was created as a 501(c)(3) non-profit to better assist its endeavors. While Iowa citizens are well aware of the professional skills and care provided by firefighters, the Foundation aims to enhance firefighters’ presence within the community.

The mission of the Cedar Rapids Firefighters Foundation is to have a direct impact on the social, mental and physical wellbeing of families living in Iowa.
